How to Fix Messenger Camera Not Working on Mac
- Check Messenger Camera Permissions
- Open System Preferences on your Mac by clicking the Apple logo in the top menu and selecting System Preferences.
- Click on Security & Privacy.
- Select the Privacy tab.
- Scroll down to Camera under the sidebar on the left and ensure that Messenger is selected in the list of apps that have permission to access your camera.
- Update Your Mac's Operating System
- Click on the Apple logo in the top menu and select About This Mac.
- Click on the Software Update button.

- Reset SMC and NVRAM
- For Intel-based Macs:

- Check Your Camera in Other Applications
- Open the Photo Booth app on your Mac.
- See if the camera is working and provides a video feed.
- Try using your camera with other video calling apps, such as FaceTime or Zoom.
- Reinstall the Messenger App
- Quit Messenger if it's running.
- Move Messenger to the Trash.
- Download the latest version of Messenger from the official website.
- Install Messenger by following the on-screen instructions.
- Launch Messenger and check if the camera is working.
